THE VENUE

Bonhays Retreat Centre is a magical place - a sanctuary of calm and traquility, nestled in Dorset's rolling hills between Bridport & Lyme Regis and just 2 miles from the sea. With its indoor heated pool, comfortable accommodation, valley views, and secluded location, it's the perfect getaway.

THE RETREAT

As May blossoms, so can we. This weekend we will celebrate Beltane, the traditional fire festival held at the beginning of May, celebrating growth, abundance, and vitality. The night sky at Bonhays is spectacular - come and marvel at the stars and toast (vegan) marshmellows on the campfire.

The accommodation is simply furnished and well-equipped, with a warm welcoming feel, and clean, comfortable rooms. The main communal living space (there's more than one) has big sofas, and a wood burning stove to keep us cosy (see photo below) - with teas, snacks and fruit available in kitchen areas at all times.

THE FOOD

The food at Bonhays is an event in itself! Resident Chef Evie will be catering specially for us. Well known for her fabulous feasts and personal touch, she sources local, organic ingredients wherever possible, if she hasn't grown them herself. She cooks delicious, wholesome dishes that are satisfying and super-tasty. Lunch and Supper is prepared for us, and Breakfast is self-serve. All food and drink will be vegan. Bonhays will do their best to accommodate additional dietary requirements such as gluten-free, with sufficient notice - so make sure you request this when booking.

YOGA

Yoga sessions are suitable for all levels, from beginners to seasoned yogis, and held in the Group Room - a lovely large space with a gentle, restful vibe. And if the weather is kind, we may move outside. The morning Vinyasa Flow class is more energising, the later Yin session, softer and mostly mat-based. After supper is Meditation, and Yoga Nidra (a guided full body relaxation).

You are free to do as many, or as few, activities as you wish, there's no pressure.

Friday 4th May:

  • 4.00pm: Arrival & settling in
  • 5.00pm: Welcome & Introductions followed by Yoga class (Yin)
  • 7.00pm: Supper
  • 9.00pm: Ahimsa Meditation 

Saturday 5th May:

  • 6.00am: Go to beach to watch the sunrise / meditate
  • 8.00am: Breakfast
  • 9.30am: Yoga class (Vinyasa Flow)
  • 12.30pm: Lunch
  • 1.30pm: Riverside walk from Bonhays to Charmouth beach
  • 5.15pm: Yoga class (Yin)
  • 7.00pm: Supper
  • 9.00pm: Yoga Nidra (Full Body Relaxation)

Sunday 6th May:

  • 6.00am: Go to beach to watch the sunrise / meditate
  • 8.00am: Breakfast
  • 9.30am: Yoga class (Vinyasa Flow)
  • 12.30pm: Lunch
  • (Maybe a quick trip to the sea ...?)
  • 5.15pm: Yoga class (Yin)
  • 6.30pm: Supper
  • 8.30pm: Beltane celebration session with Guest Teacher (campfire, weather permitting)

Monday 7th May:

  • 8.00am: Breakfast
  • 10.00am: Yoga class (Vinyasa Flow)
  • 12.30pm: Lunch, and goodbyes
  • 2.00pm: Departure

Room options below. Please note that Twin rooms are for pairs booking together (so no individual twin spaces can be booked!)

 ALL prices are per person:

  • £379 - Twin Bunk Room (two sharing): with comfy bunk beds (2 rooms available)
  • £409 - Large Twin Room (two sharing): with 1 double & 1 single bed. (1 room available)
  • £429 Single Room (sole occupancy): with single bed. (4 rooms available)
  • £439 Large Single Room (sole occupancy): with double bed. (4 rooms available)

 (NOT included in the price: Travel to and from the venue, and travel insurance)

You can confirm your place by paying a £150 non-refundable deposit, OR the full amount. Any remaining balance is due 6 weeks before the Retreat by 21st March 2019

THE TEACHER

Louise Wallis is owner of Mind Body Zone - an experienced and fun-loving Yoga & Pilates teacher who has been teaching movement for over 20 years.

Getting there: The address is: Bonhays Farm, Whitchurch Canicorum, DT6 6RF

Car: Please refer to map below. Plenty of parking at the centre. Train: Nearest station is Axminster - on the main London Waterloo to Exeter line. There are buses from the station to Morecombelake (a 20 min downhill walk away), or book ahead for a taxi from Axminster station for a cost of roughly £20. Try Axminster Taxis (01297) 34000, or BJ's 35007.
